How To Visit Rome In 24 Hours

If you only have 24 hours to visit the beautiful city of Rome, you need to know exactly what to visit and how to get there in order not to miss any of the important places.

You must first choose among the Rome airport transfer services to get to your hotel. The fastest and most comfortable way, but not the cheapest, to get to your destination would be to take a taxi and in a matter of minutes, you will be at your hotel and start your journey.

The Roman Forum

Take a taxi to get to your hotel and leave your baggage. Get on a bus that goes to the Roman Forum and purchase a combined ticket for the Colosseum and the Forum. This way you will not have to stay in line to buy a ticket at the Colosseum. You can also have a quick breakfast on the 2,000-year old stairs of the Forum.

The Colosseum

The next stop is at the Colosseum, but on your way make sure you see the Arch of Constantine on your right side. As you already have a ticket just enter the Colosseum and spend some time admiring this beautifully preserved 70 AD building.

The Vatican

Get a taxi or the Metro and go to Vatican City. As you walk through the Piazza del Risorgimento buy a guided tour to St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums. Ask for a tour that starts at 1 pm and check if this tour is allowed to skip the Vatican Museums lines. You have some time to grab some lunch and a nearby restaurant or a sandwich.

The Pantheon

Take a taxi and go to the Pantheon. The bus is not a good option in this case. After you see the majestic Pantheon, you can visit the rest of the attractions at your pace. There is no pressure and no closing time for them.

The Trevi Fountain, the Piazza Navona and Dinner

From the Pantheon to the Trevi Fountain is a 10-minute walk. Throw a coin into the fountain. Tradition says that if you so this you will return to Rome some day. From the fountain it takes only 20 minutes on foot to Piazza Navona, where you can have a nice dinner.

The Spanish Steps

Take a taxi and go to the Spanish Steps. Buy a gelato or beer, take a sit on the steps and just relax and absorb the atmosphere around you.
