How To Organise Your Pantry

How To Organise Your Pantry

If you are lucky enough to have a pantry, this article is for you. A pantry is basically a storage area to keep your kitchen tops clean and clutter-free. No matter how big your pantry is, I can guarantee that you wish you had a bigger one. What if this wasn’t the case? What if you were just storing things in a way that doesn’t utilise the important real estate. In this article, we will go through some innovative ways in which you can streamline your storage solutions where you won’t double buy products anymore and you can see what you have in and what you need to buy.

Use Small Wicker Baskets

Wicker baskets are a great bit of kit for storage as they go well with most things and they can be stacked or used like draws. You can place your tins such as your beans and chopped tomatoes, or your bakery products in them for a more organised appearance. The best part is they are easy to pull out and get the products rather than rummaging. If you prefer, they can also be used as a catch-all for napkins etc.

Turn Shelves Into Drawers

Draws are always better for some products that you use regularly and are relatively small such as spices or savoury sauces. This way you can have your herbs and spices all beautifully aligned and you can pull them out without having to spill or topple anything over. It is best to organise items for more functional storage. You can then keep them all hidden away with a beautiful door.

Hang A Pegboard

This may sound silly, but a pegboard makes an excellent bit of storage. You can place the hangers and shelves wherever you want and it can fit many things on them such as your cooking utensils, pots and pans, herb plants or even your pasta, the choice is yours.

Think About Draw Separators

This is essential when it comes to your bottles of spirits, wines or even oils. By installing draw separators, you can prevent all of your bottles from jingling around, toppling over and making everything just look chaotic. They can help to keep everything in place, it doesn’t have to be bottled, it can be for anything you need. There is a range of different shaped and sized separators for all your needs.

Invest In A Library Ladder

If you are lucky enough to have a lot of vertical space, then it is always a good idea to stretch your cabinets out to make floor to ceiling storage. This will allow you to have much more room where you can put your best dining set at the top etc. If you can’t reach that high, then add a steep library ladder to the mix for a touch of style and it will also come in useful.

There are many different techniques you can use to improve your pantries storage space, it all has to do with planning. If you plan it and picture where things are going to go, then it will be much easier. For this, it is best to remove absolutely everything from the pantry, give everywhere a dusting and a deep clean and start from a blank canvas.
