Travelling In The Caribbean

The Caribbean is a wonderful territory and it is still considered as a hidden region. However, despite their relatively pristine natural condition, Caribbean is relatively close to centers of civilization, especially the United States, Mexico and Colombia. The Caribbean is known for its tropical climate and it should be an ideal destination throughout the year. However, it is a good idea to go during the dry season, from January to May; which coincides with winter season at the northern hemisphere. We could visit many islands in the Caribbean by sea or air. Flights can be booked online or on the airport.

Private yacht could be another popular form of transportation and it is among the most comfortable. There are many marinas and watery parking lots around the Caribbean. This should also be an opportunity for the famous and rich to enjoy great adventure. However, we should be aware that private yachts are still subject to local custom rules when they enter specific maritime territory. Getting around in Caribbean islands should be easy, because many of them are quite small. Some of them are small enough that we could walk to reach specific spots throughout the island.

Travelling In The Caribbean

When we are visiting the Caribbean, we should choose islands that could provide us with pure attractions. There should be many things we could do around these islands, not just swimming and diving. We may also choose islands known for their culinary attractions. It would be very relaxing to spend our entire time in the island, swimming, eating and swimming again. In fact, there are people who are busy “doing nothing”. For busy people, the ability to do nothing and relax their mind on the beach is a marvellous activity in itself.

Some islands in the Caribbean are blessed with mountainous terrain, while others have secluded harbours with wonderful stretches of sparkly white sands. In any case, all beaches in the Caribbean are public and they are free. In many cases, we could find ourselves all alone in these beaches. It would be wonderful to stay in a completely deserted beach with shady palms and shallow turquoise waters for hours. In fact, we could often call these as our own private beaches. There could be small octopuses and turtles abound, making these Caribbean beaches true paradise.

There are many secluded beaches in the Caribbean that are worthy to be called bona fide tourist attractions, but they are relatively unknown to most travellers. Reaching these beaches could require us to walk from our hotels. Other main draws of the Caribbean islands are their art and boutique craft shops. There should be colourful local clothing and art options for us to buy. We could also visit old forts from the colonization era with their sea-worn cannons and sturdy old walls. These forts could become quite and scenic places during sunset, especially because they often overlook the beach.
